Sometimes a post is not about a quote, but instead about a beautiful moment. I was walking down the boardwalk this evening and saw the gentleman on the right out of the corner of my eye. As I was walking past him, I could tell he had a heavy heart. He just kept looking down, not engaged. I circled back around to talk to him, when the gentleman on the left approached him. I paused, and waited for the man on the left to walk away.
After about three minutes, the man on the left sat down next to him, put his hand on the back of the man on the right, and started talking very slowly. The man on the right just broke down…. Tears. I got closer, and sure enough, the man on the left was praying for him. I discretely took this photo, and a few minutes later, I talked to them. They never met before, but it turns out the man on the right said he was asking God to please send someone to him that afternoon because he just needed someone to talk to. I won’t divulge the details of the story behind his need to talk, but the man on the right had the biggest smile on his face by the time I was leaving them.
Meeting these two men who never met each other before reminds me that we all have the power to make a difference in someone’s life just by asking them if they need to talk.
