“The biggest challenge for me is being a mom. I need to keep it all together for my children. Even when I am having a bad day, I need to to keep my best foot forward for them. No matter what the situation is that I am going through, my kids keep me going. Because without me, where would they be? Because I may have a bad day, but they are like, ‘Lady, if you don’t have it together, where does that leave us?’ I think overall being a parent is very challenging these days. Because the lack of knowledge you have, you still have to figure it out to give knowledge to your children, and it is hard.
“My kids range from 5 to 17. My oldest is about graduate, and he is about to go to Kean. He has always been in plays since he was a little boy, and he has become really good at acting. Everybody knows him at his school. I am so proud of him. But when he is on stage getting his awards and all of these people are clapping for him, he always points me out and shows his love for his mom.”
