Lonely Widower

“I am a commercial clammer, both in the bay and the ocean. There is no off-season. I have been doing it all of my adult life.

“There is not much I am looking forward to for 2018. I lost my wife of 28 years last Christmas. That Christmas was the worst thing that ever happened to me. She died of kidney failure. This Christmas was pretty depressing. I just go out clamming a lot more to pass the time.

“Believing in God keeps me going. I go to church, but I really don’t have friends there. I talk to the minister, that’s about it. I have no one else in my life really. I am trying to find someone else to spend my time with, but it doesn’t look like it will be happening.”
